JMP Now Rep for ClimateMaster Residential Ground Source Heat Pumps
/JMP now sells ClimateMaster ground source heat pumps (GSHP) for the residential market!
That's BIG news for residential builders and developers in the southeast who are seeing increased demand for more climate-friendly solutions. While most residential contractors/builders have yet to install their first GSHP, JMP has been involved in hundreds, if not thousands, of commercial ground-source and water-source applications. We also have hundreds of residential GSHPs in stock and ready to ship from our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse. So, who better to help building professionals take their projects to the next level in sustainability?
Why Residential? And Why Now?
Until now, JMP has only sold heating and cooling equipment for the commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. However, we expect demand for residential heat pumps to continue to rise. Current tax incentives and rebates make these systems more affordable than ever before. These incentives, combined with increased concern over climate change and rising fuel costs, have set the stage for even more sales growth.
There’s simply never been a better time for homeowners to invest in ground-source (geothermal) technology. Homeowners who have or will install a GSHP are likely eligible to receive a tax credit for 30% of the heat pump's system costs (up to $2,000) annually from 2023 until 2033 through the Federal Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Credit. Most states and many utilities have additional incentives in place.
GSHPs will become a regular part of the conversation about how we heat and cool our homes. Early on, these conversations will raise many questions from developers, builders, and homeowners. JMP is committed to educating the residential industry about how and why GSHPs make sense, both from an environmental standpoint and an economic standpoint for owners.
Over the last several months, we've been developing webinars, training materials, and more so that building professionals can access information about how these systems work and how to apply them. While we are relying on a network of carefully selected wholesalers to sell these products, builders, and installers will have full access to JMP expertise.
Convenient GSHP Replacement Resource
As more residential GSHP systems are installed, the need for quick delivery of replacement units will also increase. Unlike air-source heat pumps, which are widely stocked and available for fast delivery, GSHPs have historically taken weeks to ship. That wait is a big ask for a homeowner, especially in the dead of winter or the sweltering heat of summer. Fortunately, JMP already has a substantial inventory of GSHPs ready to ship from Atlanta, and we have plans to stock equipment in other locations. That's good news for any homeowner with an aging GSHP, no matter what brand of heat pump they have.
