A geothermal system installation at the ASHRAE headquarters in Atlanta, GA continues to bear out the efficiency merits of the technology – and ASHRAE is documenting all the details. JMP was thrilled to be a part of this project and helped the mechanical engineering firm, Johnson, Spellman & Associates, Inc., select both the geothermal heat pumps as well as Bell & Gossett inline circulating pumps.

There are very few moments in one’s career when hindsight tells you, “I really did the right thing at that point.” The North Carolina AIA’s decision to move forward with the building of our new Center for Architecture & Design in downtown Raleigh was one of them. Against all odds, the building was completed just this winter, and stands as a testimony not only to sustainable building, but sheer will. We were one of a few new construction projects that managed to survive the 2008/2009 financial crises. And none of it would have been possible without the generous contributions from companies like James M. Pleasants Co. (JMP).

JMP received a special honor while attending this year’s International Air-Conditioning Heating Refrigerating Exposition (AHR) in Chicago. We were presented with the Golden Circle Award by the ASHRAE Research Foundation at the President’s luncheon and award ceremony at the Palmer House Hotel. This award recognizes those companies who have contributed $10,000.00 or more to ASHRAE research.
